Deodorant

Camping at Philmont is an adventure. Any adventure presents it’s own challenges and dangers. While at Philmont, you will learn how to stay safe while camping in areas populated by black bears. There is nothing wrong with smelling bad on the trail. In fact, if you smell like a human you will actually scare bears away. Deodorant will stop your natural perfume. You may even attract bears if your deodorant is scented. Make sure you leave your deodorant in base camp. If you try to sneak it onto the trail, your ranger will probably confiscate it.
