4. Costs

Nobody should let the cost of a Philmont Trek stop them from attending. There are always Fundraising alternatives to cover the costs.

The cost of a Philmont Trek (12 day) in 2013 is $770 per person and $800 in 2014. That does not include Travel Expenses which can vary greatly ($200 – $1,000) or Gear (avg. $600). The total costs can range from $1,000 to $2,400 per person.

The Philmont fee covers all services provided once you arrive at Philmont. There are additional services they offer such as Pack Rentals ($18), extra Crew Photos ($10), and extra dining hall meals. You will also want to make sure that you bring plenty of money to spend on souvenirs at the Tooth of Time Traders.

Now that we know roughly how much it will cost, we need to start our Training for Philmont.
