Video Game Devices

Philmont is a wilderness experience. Take a chance! Unplug yourself from society. You will have plenty of time when you get home to beat the next level. Take a chance. You will be on the trail with up to 11 of what will be your closest friends and family. Do you want everyone in your crew to look back and remember you always off by yourself playing a video game? No! You are trying something new by just going on a 10 day backpacking trip! Try going the entire trek without  video games!

If that’s not reason enough to keep you from ruining your trek, you will only have the opportunity to charge electronics in base camp. It is ok if you bring something to keep yourself occupied while traveling, but make sure you leave in the cars or crew lockers and don’t take it on the trail.

If you are still determined to take it on the trail, we guarantee it will break. More than likely it will get a cracked screen or you will find out that it is not waterproof. If that doesn’t work it may be broken by one of your advisers or your ranger. Electronics these days are expensive. Don’t risk breaking it and getting in trouble with your parents. Don’t take it on the trail!
